The paradox about steel and aluminum overhead doors is that they are both made of metallic materials but they have a complete different reaction to natural elements, diverse characteristics, properties and strengths. In this case, you would need stronger garage door springs and openers but you will have a very powerful system, which will also insulate the whole house properly. At older times, people didn't need such strong doors and knew that they had to maintain steel often to avoid corrosion. Today, when such problems have been effaced and garage door repairs eliminated, people started reconsidering. After all, today they need to fortify their homes the best way they can and, thus, need the strongest possible garage system.
